We recommend that samples be sent by next-day courier. Samples may be sent fresh on ice or
frozen, but must be sealed in appropriate packaging to prevent leakage.
Sample sizes should be based on appropriate sample plans as care must be taken to ensure
statistically valid sampling, especially when dealing with very large batches. Samples may be sent
shucked or whole, however where end product testing is being carried-out we recommend that the
shucked end product be sent. However the minimum sample sizes acceptable for analyse are:
King scallops
:
3 whole or 5 shucked (roe-on) scallops
Queen scallops
:
15 20 shucked scallops
Mussels
:
50 mussels
Oysters
:
5 oysters
Others
:
