Learn to Ski or Board
Do you want to learn to ski or snowboard but not sure how to go about it?
Our "Learn to Ski/Board" package could be what you're looking for.
We can organise everything for you. Take you to the ski hire shop to make sure you get the right equipment, get your lift
passes and accompany you to your lesson on the first day. After that it's downhill all the way!!
Complete package includes Ski/Board Hire, Tuition (6 x 2:15 hour lessons (3hours for snowboarding) at ESF Grand Bornand),
6 day area lift-pass with free ski bus.
Adults 360 skiing, 390 snowboarding high season, 340 skiing, 370 snowboarding low season
Children under 15 330 ski or board all season.
What to Wear
If you're not sure about clothing you can give us a call but here
are some essentials -

Ski gloves or mittens
- Warm
hat

Ski jacket or wind and waterproof jacket + fleece

Ski pants or waterproof over trousers + fleece
leggings

Good quality sun glasses preferably UV Category 4

High factor sun screen

Ski socks - non cotton and not too thick. "Tube" socks
to be avoided!
It's best to use the multi layered approach with a thermal under
layer and a couple of fleece layers which can be stripped off if
you get too warm.
Dry Slopes
Some people like to get a head start and have a few lessons on
a dry slope at home. This is a good idea but plastic slopes can
be painful to fall on so try to get to a Snowdome with real snow if
you can, it's much more lifelike!
Ski and Snowboard Lessons
Group Lessons
For beginners who don't want the inclusive package, or improvers/intermediates this is a good option. 6 half days spent in a
group of similar ability is a cost effective way to learn and have fun. For the other half of the day practice what you've learned
with your mates.
Group lessons are available for skiing and snowboarding, plus special children's groups.

Private Lessons
For those who want more focused or specialist tuition you can hire an instructor for one or two hours or even a full day.
An excellent way to perfect your technique on and off piste or on moguls, and to get rid of any bad habits. Book 1:1 or share a
lesson with a couple of friends.
One hour for 1 or 2 people is 30 and 45 for 3 or 4 people with ESF in Grand Bornand.
Advanced Skiing ,Boarding and Touring
'Aravis Challenge' offer specialist courses for intermediate to advanced skiers and boarders. Run by Yann and Freddy
Quenet; Yann is an ex world cup mogul skier and was runner up in the 1999 European Extreme Skiing Cup. He was also the
coach to the British Mogul Team.
Together with the rest of their team they offer a range of options from courses to ski safari's including:
- Beginners off piste
- Private Guiding
- Advanced off piste
- Ski/Snowboard Safari's
- Couloirs and Steeps
- Ski and Snowboard Clinics
- Back Country Skiing
- Ski-touring "Randonnee"
All off piste courses include hire and training in the use of ARVA avalanche rescue equipment to help ensure your safety.
