Elevator Condition Analysis System
The Elevator Condition Analysis (ECA) Component is unique in that it is designed specifically for
elevators and elevator related project recommendations. As with the FCA data input screen, it
starts out with general elevator information (Manufacturer, Type of Machine, Duty, Car Size,
Floors Served, Hoistway Structure, etc.) and progresses to detailed maintenance and capital
renewal specific project recommendations with associated budget cost data.
The ECA System also includes field measured data for each elevator included in the study. The
following data is typically included: Door Open Time, Door Close Time, Car Door Thrust, Car
Door Dwell Time, Flight Time for One Floor Run (Up and Down), Car Speed (Up and Down),
Leveling Accuracy, and Nudging Time.
As with the FCA data, the recommended projects are categorized by Priority (1 - 4 typically),
Project Classification (Deferred Maintenance, Capital Renewal, and Plant Adaptation, and outside
vendor, the Project Liability classification/differentiation provides a vital tool for assigning
responsibility to the correct entities.
The project development section of the ECA System also contains fields which, when updated,
contain the data in which a specific project recommendation was completed. This allows the user
to track progress by reducing the total backlog with respect to elevators. Also, a maintenance
history can be developed over time, that will in some cases, aid the elevator owner in
troubleshooting reoccurring defects.
Note: Elevator Condition Analysis, as provided by ISES, is not always a standard component of
every Facility Condition Analysis. However, the ECA System is included in every standard
installation of ISES FCA.
