CASE STUDIES:
KMART USES HYPER-TRACK
TO MEET TARGET
Impressed by H+M's new delivery process, Kmart Corporation negotiated with
H+M for the design and construction of their 1,400,000 square feet facility in
the Town of Florida, New York. Kmart needed the New York facility to cut costs
and improve efficiencies while making sure products got to the stores quickly.
"H+M was able to deliver a quality facility on an unbelievable schedule," says
Drew Lucas, Director of Project Management for Kmart. "The job has been an
outstanding success amidst the winter weather in New York. We had to adjust
the material handling, delivery and installation dates after H+M completed
the facility in 13 weeks, two months ahead of schedule. Now I
know what they mean by HYPER-TRACK!"
HOW H+M HYPER-TRACK WORKED
FOR PROCTER & GAMBLE
H+M used its HYPER-TRACK process on two Procter & Gamble distribution
centers, which totaled over 2.4 million square feet. The two facilities in
Albany, Georgia and Green Bay, Wisconsin will house paper products
for Procter & Gamble.
H+M began working on the Albany, Georgia project on August 27th. The
structural steel was erected and the tilt-up panels were in place in five weeks.
The certificate of substantial completion for the facility was obtained on
December 19th. That's more than 1,400,000 square feet in less than
100 working days.
During the same time period, H+M also substantially completed over
1,000,000 square feet for Procter & Gamble in Green Bay, Wisconsin
in less than 15 weeks from the start of the foundations.
