The program is presented by the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) in cooperation with
Howard University, College of Medicine; Center for Continuing Medical Education.

Intended Audience: Physicians, Dentists, Nurses, Pharmacists, Social Workers, and other health professionals,
including Basic Scientists, Environmentalists and Behaviorists, interested in improving health for the people in
Nigeria.
Scientific Assembly Format/Description: The Assembly comprises a Keynote address, opening session and four
plenary sessions. Two of the plenary sessions are symposia designed to increase participation by members. The
other two are in lecture format with opportunity for questions and comments.
Educational Objectives: After completing the program, participants should be able to:
· Identify tools for assessing the health of a population;
· Discuss various resources in healthcare;
· Discuss the relevance of vital statistics in the evaluation of the health of a population;
· Review primary care as a determinant in health services;
· Review current management in HIV/AIDS.
Sponsor Accreditation: Howard University, College of Medicine, Center for Continuing Medical Education is
accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing
medical education for physicians.
Category 1 Credits: The Center for Continuing Medical Education designates this educational activity for a
maximum of (11) hours in category 1 credit towards the NMA Physician's Achievement Award and the AMA
Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she
actually spent in the educational activity.
