10.
EUROPEAN FILM ACADEMY SHORT FILM PRIX UIP
nomination procedure and election of the winner
10.1.
The award goes to a European short film / video by a director born in Europe*
or with a European passport. All film or video formats are eligible.
The films / videos must not exceed the length of 15 minutes.
10.2.
The European Film Academy Short Film Prix UIP is presented in co-operation
with UIP and fourteen European short film festivals or major festivals having a
short film section.
The fourteen festivals participating in the 2006 nomination procedure are:

Flanders International Film Festival Ghent/Belgium (October 2005),

Valladolid International Film Festival/Spain (October 2005),

Angers European First Film Festival/France (January 2006),

International Film Festival Rotterdam/the Netherlands (January/February 2006),

Berlin International Film Festival/Germany (February 2006),
-
Tampere International Short Film Festival/Finland (March 2006),
-
Cracow Film Festival/Poland (May/June 2006),
-
Norwegian Short Film Festival Grimstad/Norway (June 2006),
-
International Short Film Festival Vila do Conde/Portugal (July 2006),
-
Sarajevo Film Festival/Bosnia & Herzegovina (August 2006),
-
Edinburgh International Film Festival/UK (August 2005),
-
Venice International Film Festival/Italy (September 2006),
-
International Short Film Festival in Drama/Greece (September 2006),
-
Cork Film Festival/Ireland (October 2006).
10.3.
At each of the above festivals, a jury appointed by the festival selects a single
winner. The winner will be presented with the Prix UIP which includes a financial
donation of Euro 2,000.
10.4.
The fourteen short films having received the Prix UIP will automatically be
nominated in the category European Film Academy Short Film 2006 Prix UIP.
10.5.
The fourteen nominated films are submitted to the EFA membership on DVD or
videotape to vote for the winner.
10.6.
The winner is presented with the European Film Academy Short Film 2006 Prix
UIP including a financial donation of Euro 10,000.
10.7.
The winner is announced at the awards ceremony.
10.8.
The winner is invited to the awards ceremony.
