Exhibit 3: Narrative Statement
Regent Communications of Flint ("Regent of Flint") is committed to equal employment
opportunities in staffing its six radio stations. During the preceding one-year period, Regent of Flint
has participated in a number of activities designed to ensure broad outreach and to inform members of
the community about opportunities in broadcast employment. Regent of Flint has experienced no
notable outreach difficulties during the one-year period preceding this filing. During this time, Regent
of Flint has:
1. Participated in three job fairs sponsored by local colleges and universities. At these events,
Promotion Directors collected resumes and talked with attendees about careers in broadcasting.
2. Established and maintained an on-going internship program with local colleges and universities,
including University of Michigan, Baker College, Mott Community College and Kettering
University. Over the past two years, the Flint stations have employed over 65 interns.
3. Provided thorough, quality on-going training programs for its sales, engineering and
programming employees. The training programs are designed to allow them to acquire skills
that would qualify them for higher level positions.
4. Participated in an activity designed to disseminate information about broadcasting
opportunities. Regent of Flint participates in an on-going Day on the Job program sponsored by
the Flint Chamber of Commerce. Several times per year, Regent of Flint invites area high
school students to visit the station for a day and shadow various Regent of Flint employees for a
day to learn about the broadcasting field.
By employing these and a variety of other methods and initiatives, Regent of Flint has complied
with both the letter and the spirit of the Commission's equal employment opportunity rules, 47 CFR §
73.2080(c)(2). For additional information about the activities listed above, please see the Equal
Employment Opportunity Public File Report.
