Consortium Management Coordination:
The IP project management consists of the following management levels:
1) Consortium Management: The Consortium Management is a twofold activity. The senior
management representatives of all Partners meet in the "Consortium Council" to define and
control the overall work policies, regulations and the financial aspects (budget, etc.) of the
Consortium.
2) IP Co-ordination and Management: The IP Co-ordination is the evident intermediary
between the European Commission and the Consortium. The Co-ordinator is responsible for the
entire IP NANOKER management and control. He decides management tasks within the
Executive Committee formed by core partners of this IP and receives professional support by the
Project Management Office (PMO) with dedicated personnel executing the overall project
management tasks at IP level and providing additionally extensive support to the Subproject (SP)
and Workpackage (WP) Co-ordinators for most of the formal management tasks for the scientific
and technical aspects of the SPs and WPs. Knowledge-relevant results are permanently
detected, registered and communicated through the Committee and the Committee of IP, Use
and Dissemination.
3) Subproject and Workpackage Co-ordination: On one hand, IP NANOKER foresees a co-
ordination for each Application Field and Subproject, to control vertical RTD and industry-oriented
tasks fulfilment with a double-headed partnership between IND and RES experts. On the other
hand, it warrants the necessary horizontal, cross-sectorial and task integration by establishing
workpackage Co-ordinators represented mainly by RES institutions. The day-to-day Co-
ordination depends on the instructions of the Scientific Committee, the Executive Committee and
the Committee of IP, Use and Dissemination via the Co-ordinator.
