Why volunteer?
`Man is the son of his environment'
Dr Suzuki
Help your children grow into
compassionate adults by showing them
that you care about and value the
activities they and others are involved in.
You can make a difference to how things
at Suzuki Music operate by being
involved, either at special events or
behind the scenes.
Volunteers play an essential role in both
the day-to-day operation and
development of the association.
Our two paid staff and our volunteers
work in partnership to deliver the best
possible experiences for our children,
from choosing a teacher to performing
at a concert.
Volunteers enable us to provide the
highest quality services at the lowest
possible price.
Meet with other Suzuki parents and
teachers through Suzuki activities and
develop a supportive network of friends.
Work with a group of friends and make it
a social activity too. Ask a grandparent
to work with you and participate in their
grandchild's music.
What is expected?
There are many ways that families can
make an important contribution from the
`little' things like putting mail outs or
registration kits together to being a Parent
Representative on the Suzuki Music Council
and providing input on the management
of our association. If you have a particular
skill or interest please let us know as there
may be a way that you can assist us that
we haven't thought of yet!
How often?
Different tasks require different time
commitments. Some tasks might just need
an hour of your time at a concert that you
are already attending, others may require
three hours at the same time each month
(such as library maintenance or Council
meetings).
How can I become involved?
Fill out the reply slip on the reverse side and
return it to the Suzuki Music office. Please
indicate the sorts of times you are
available, whether you can assist regularly
or occasionally and the sorts of tasks that
interest you. If you indicate that you are
able to help on a regular basis, one of our
staff or the Volunteer Co-ordinator will be in
touch shortly. If you are able to help
occasionally or at events, the Co-ordinator
will be in touch to confirm your interest and
then again as the need arises.
