Harassment occurs when a person
annoys or alarms another person but
does not intend or cause physical
injury.
Menacing occurs when a person threat-
ens to cause serious physical injury to
another person but does not cause a
serious physical injury.
Assault occurs when a person causes
physical injury to another person.
19. On a foggy Friday night after work, a group
of men met at the Jolly-O Tavern for a few
beers. The conversation centered on the
merits of the two local hockey teams, and
Warren Wu stoutly defended his favorite
team against that of Tomas Ramos. Ramos
could stand just so much taunting. As he
became more angry, Ramos told Wu that he
had better "shut up" before he, Tomas
Ramos, knocked Wu's block off. Wu
continued to praise his team, whereupon
Ramos gave him such a punch to the jaw
