13. Police officers are sometimes required to respond to the scene of a traffic accident involving two
vehicles. In situations in which one of the drivers involved in the accident has left the scene
before the arrival of a police officer, the responding officer must use the following procedures in

1. Question the driver of the remaining vehicle as to the license plate number of the vehicle that
fled.
a. If the complete license plate number is known, call the Vehicle Inquiry Section to deter-
mine the name and address of owner.
b. Write down the name and address of the owner of the vehicle that fled.
c. Give the name and address of the owner of the vehicle that fled to the driver remaining at
scene of accident.
2. Obtain from the driver remaining at the scene all details of the accident including a descrip-
tion of the vehicle that fled.
3. Call the Stolen Vehicle Desk.
4. Prepare a Complaint Form in duplicate.
Police Officer Yoshida has arrived at the scene of a traffic accident involving two cars. One of
the drivers fled the scene immediately after the impact, but the driver of the remaining vehicle,
Louis Santangelo, noticed that the last three digits of the license plate were 7-9-7, and he has
given this information to Officer Yoshida. Which one of the following actions should Officer
