Dr. Jean-Luc Lowinski
Head of Bayer HealthCare China and Bayer HealthCare Asia/Pacific
(Biography)
Dr. Jean-Luc Lowinski (40) has been Head of Bayer HealthCare China since January
1, 2003. On December 1, 2004, he was also appointed Head of Bayer HealthCare
Asia/Pacific, headquartered in Singapore.
Jean-Luc Lowinski was born in Paris on November 25, 1964. He obtained his MBA
degree at INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, in 1991 and a PhD degree in Veterinary
Science at the University of Nantes, France, in 1992. In the same year, he joined the
Pharmaceuticals Business Group of Bayer AG in Leverkusen, Germany, where he ini-
tially worked as a pharmaceutical consultant and product manager. In 1994 he trans-
ferred to South Korea to oversee the development of the new Pharmaceuticals Busi-
ness Group in that country. In 1996 he was appointed Head of the Pharmaceuticals
Business Group for Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia, headquartered in
Singapore. Two years later, he transferred to what is now the Consumer Care Division
in Asia to head up the division's development in that region.
From 1998 to 2001 he served as Executive Vice President of the Consumer Care Divi-
sion of Bayer India Ltd. in Mumbai. After that, he took over a dual responsibility as
Regional Manager of the Consumer Care Division for Southeast Asia/India in Bang-
kok and General Manager of the Consumer Care and Pharmaceuticals divisions of
Bayer Thai Company Ltd.
Jean-Luc Lowinski is married.
