(Biography)
Jörg Ellmanns (40) was appointed Head of Business Development at Bayer Health-
Care AG, Animal Health Division, on August 1, 2004.
Jörg Ellmanns was born on October 5, 1964, in Burscheid, Germany. After finishing
school in 1985 and completing his civilian service, he began a training course at Bayer
AG culminating in an associate degree in business administration with state certifica-
tion.
After successfully completing this course in 1990, he transferred to the former Veteri-
nary Business Group in Monheim, where he was appointed Business Manager for the
Middle East. Between 1993 and 1996, he completed an assignment abroad as Product
Manager for the Livestock portfolio of Bayer's South African subsidiary. After return-
ing to headquarters, he performed various functions in the Product Management sec-
tion of the Companion Animals Business Unit and as a project manager. In 2000 Ell-
manns transferred to Brussels where he headed the Animal Health Business Group in
the Benelux countries. Upon returning to Germany again, he assumed responsibility
for the Strategy & Business Development/Companion Animals Department at the end
of 2003.
Jörg Ellmanns is married and has two children.
