Section II. Program Parameters
I. Program Delivery
Please consult your contract for information on specific delivery times. If you think you will be
running late, contact the Independent Producer Coordinator to let them know. MHz NETWORKS has
a "ready to air" policy in which programs must not have any technical or program content
violations. Please consult your contract for possible fees if your program is rejected or delivered
late.
II. Program Length
MHz NETWORKS reserves 1 minute and 30 seconds of every program's time slot to air disclaimers,
station underwriters, station promos, and its legal ID. Programs that run over the time listed on
their contract may be cut to conform to these constraints at the station's option and discretion.
III. Program Set Up
Programs should follow the program format sheet (see pages 12 and 13 for examples of a
standard format sheet) that was filed when applying for broadcast airtime. Any new segments or
other major program changes should be given to the Independent Ethnic Programming Manager
at least four weeks before air.
IV. Prohibited Program Content
Programs that contain the following violations will not air:
1. Underwriter credits in the body of the program- an underwriter can only be mentioned during
an underwriter break. The program content should be free of any information about the
underwriter, audibly and visually.
2. Inserting Commercials.
3. Programming political, religious, or racial statements.
4. Any material that in MHz NETWORKS' judgment would violate the station's compliance with the
Federal Communications Commission's rules and regulations and/or general broadcast ethics.
5. Personal attacks against a person or persons.
6. Joblines and employment opportunities (see page 5 for more information).
7. Video footage or music taken from other organizations (TV stations, video production
companies, musicians, etc.) without written permission from the original rights holders (Please see
page 11).
