Unacceptable examples include:
"Special gift for the first 50 visitors, mention this ad."
"Now offering free checking."
"No appraisal fee."
"Free consultation." Or "Free Parking" or "Plenty of Parking"
Special Note: To determine whether an underwriter announcement promotes a business rather
than identifies it, consider the overall effect of the audio and video. If the overall effect is to get
the viewer to use the product or service, then the underwriting is promotional and will not be
accepted.
10. Use of company or celebrity spokespersons are not permitted. A company or celebrity
spokesperson may only serve as a voiceover and may not appear in a spot except as a
still.
11. Use of multiple voices, or actors interacting with each other, or actors/spokespersons
speaking directly into the camera are not permitted.
12. Music and Sound Effects- Music with lyrics as an underwriting jingle is not permissible.
Music is permissible when it is used as part of a
logogram
. The music should not have any
promotional messages. Sound effects of any kind are also impermissible.
13. Testimonials from satisfied customers are not permissible.
14. Political ads are not permissible.
15. Using the words "you" and "your" are not permitted.
