Section VI. Non-Compliance Penalties
The Federal Communications Commission requires each station to regulate
themselves with the general outline for non-commercial standards.
Therefore, MHz NETWORKS has outlined standards in this guide to answer specific
questions about underwriting and programming content. Any producer not adhering
to the regulations in this guide runs the risk of having his/her program rejected or
having his/her underwriters or program edited to comply with these parameters. The
producer will be charged for the editing at the prevailing rate or may be suspended or
canceled at MHz NETWORKS' option and discretion. (Please see contract for possible
fees if program is rejected.)
Please note that this manual gives guidelines that programs must follow. These
guidelines were created to help you develop a program that meets the standards of
our non-commercial, educational public broadcasting station license. The examples
listed in this manual are not a full listing of violations.
MHz NETWORKS will review your program and underwriter content in order to
determine if the overall effect is in keeping with our license. MHz NETWORKS strongly
encourages you to use this manual along with consultation with the Independent
Producer Coordinator to ensure that your program meets those standards.
