V. Information Segments and Interview Segments
Information segments, including interviews, are for dispensing information. They should not be
used for selling a product or service. An information segment is not an extended underwriter spot.
The information segment should give all of the information needed, unless the viewers need to
consult their own doctor, lawyer, financial advisor, etc. The viewer should not have to call the host
of the segment or the Producer for additional information.
Addresses, telephone numbers, and web addresses following or during an information segment or
an interview are not acceptable unless the organization is a non-profit organization or company.
There should never be an information segment with the same person or organization as an
underwriter in the same program. This also involves situations in which there are special holiday
events (parties, meetings, etc.) being sponsored by a particular underwriter.
Due to MHz NETWORKS' broadcast license, only MHz NETWORKS is allowed to raise money on the
air. As an independent production company, you are not allowed to use your airtime to raise
money for you or for any other person or organization, non-profit or for-profit without prior
approval from MHz NETWORKS' management.
