Biosystematic Codes
Over 700 five-digit Biosystematic Codes are used to index organisms in the
BIOSIS Previews and BIOSIS Previews/RN databases. Biosystematic Codes
represent taxonomic groups above the genus level.
Super Taxonomic Groups
Super Taxonomic Groups are broad categories of taxonomic groups (such as nonhuman
primates or invertebrates), which eliminate the need to enter multiple Biosystematic
Codes. They allow you to quickly search Biosystematic Code ranges. Check the Search
System Information section in the BIOSIS Search Guide or your search system's
documentation for information on searching Super Taxonomic Groups.
