(e) A fleece blanket, sweatshirt, watch, and video, with no advertised or stated val-
ues, were offered with some subscriptions at various prices.
Several test offers were made, none of which produced more than one-half of one
percent of Total Subscriptions Sold in Period. All of these special offers taken togeth-
er produced 0.8% of Total Subscriptions Sold in Period.
(f) SPORTS ILLUSTRATED is published in the following advertising editions: Na-
tional Edition, seven Regional Editions - Eastern, Midwestern, Western, Southern,
Northern California, Southern California, New England - 50 State Editions and 50
Metropolitan Area Editions. Also available is SI SELECT delivered to a guaranteed
minimum of 1,200,000 subscribers in the nation's highest income ZIP Codes. Na-
tional Less SI SELECT is delivered to a guaranteed minimum of 1,950,000 subscrib-
ers that represent the balance of the circulation exclusive of SI SELECT. SI HALF is
delivered to approximately 1/2 the national circulation. SI HOMEOWNERS is deliv-
ered to 900,000 subscribers in those ZIP Code areas which have the highest pro-
portion of private homeowners. SI GOLF is delivered to 475,000 subscribers
identified as golfers. SI ADVENTURE is delivered to 400,000 subscribers identified
likely regular participants in individual outdoor sports. All advertisers may use one or
more editions.
(g) Some subscribers were offered a SPORTS ILLUSTRATED mousepad for
prompt payment.
(h) It is the practice of the publisher to expire all subscriptions on a monthly basis;
therefore, some subscribers may receive from one to four more issues than entitled
to but no offer of this kind is made to subscribers.
(a) Publisher Suggested Prices: Subscriptions: Single Copy: To 09/10/01, Canada,
$3.99; since 09/10/01, Canada, $4.50. Subscriptions: U.S., 2 yrs. $141.90; 3 yrs.
$163.35. Canada, 1 yr. $86.90; 2 yrs. $152.90; 3 yrs. $196.35. International, 1 yr.
$149.00.
(c) Included in average subscription circulation is an average of 47,713 copies per
issue representing copies served to subscribers in exchange for the redemption of
award points. The value of the award points was indeterminable in this particular pro-
gram and therefore copies served to these subscribers are included in paid circula-
tion as a result of special permission of the ABC Board of Directors.
Included in Par. 3 are 62,641 subscriptions that were sold at 26 issues for $19.50
and 52 issues at $39.00. The value of the awards points was indeterminable in this
particular program.
(d) Included in Par. 3 are 34,482 subscriptions that were sold at 55 issues at $41.00
in exchange for the redemption of airline Frequent Flyer Miles at the rate of $0.02
per mile.

SUPPLEMENTAL ANALYSIS OF AVERAGE PAID CIRCULATION
Public Place/Sponsored Sales, Subscriptions, were sold in quantities of 11 to
28,125 to individuals or corporations at 46 issues for $50.14 and 55 issues for
$40.98.
SPORTS MARKETING PROGRAMS: Represent copies received by sports enthu-
siasts who have purchased tickets and have attended various sporting events as
part of direct marketing and fan loyalty programs with external partners. Individual
names and addresses were provided by the external partners. Quantity served:
160,301.
(i) The following program constitutes at least 5% but not greater than 10% of aver-
age paid subscription circulation for the reporting period:
Public Place/Sponsored Sales

PUBLIC PLACE: Represent individual copies mailed to high traffic public places and
waiting rooms, and airlines for in-flight distribution. Quantity served: 98,483.
CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP and OTHER: Represent copies sold to companies
and received by individuals as part of paid, sponsored customer loyalty programs as
well as multi-copy subscription purchases. Quantity served: 28,149.
