LOG WALKING
EQUIPMENT:
Two 2 by 4 by eight feet long and ten four foot lengths of rope.
Material to be supplied by committee
PREPERATION:
Leadership and teamwork
ACTION:
On signal, members of patrol will attach their feet to the logs [2X4] and
then walk together to a designated point, and then turn around and walk
back to starting point approximately 40 feet each way.
NOTE:
If it is a large patrol split up the patrol into two groups and can have a
repeat participant to balance off the group.
KNOT TYING
EQUIPMENT:
One Scout stave supplied by patrol and number soft ropes to be supplied
by committee.
PREPERATION:
Learn your knots
ACTION:
Patrol members will come up individually to the judge who will have 20
cards containing the name of knots to be tied by each Scout in the patrol.
The Scouts will rotate in order until the patrol completes a total of 20
knots.
NOTE:
All the knots come from the Scout Handbook and some of the knots will
be duplicated on the cards to reach the required 20.

ACTION:
At the signal the Patrol will receive three wooden matches and must boil
a cup of water over a fire they build.
NOTE:
No leaves, paper or special fire starting material allowed. Any use of an
axe, saw, or knife will only be permitted to those who show proper proof
