Parents' Community Involvement
Do students have role models at home for community service? According to parents
they do: nine in ten secondary school parents (89%) report that they do things to
help out their neighbors and eight in ten (81%) say they do things to help out in their
community. However, from the students' perspective this behavior is less common.
Two-thirds of students (64%) say that their parents do things to help out their neigh-
bors and six in ten (56%) report that their parents do things to help out in their com-
munity (Exhibits 6.5 - 6.6).
