International Society for Mountain Medicine - VIWCMM Abstracts
Human evolution was under the influence of different environmental factors and perfection of
mechanisms for oxygen and temperature homeostasis maintenance and that is why beginning of
problem studying for complex influences on organism is necessary to search in first publications
devoted to the investigation of adaptation reactions to different climate types, especially to high
mountain conditions. Actuality of problem increased with the beginning of space exploring when
appeared necessity in studying of organism adaptation to complex and individual factors
(physical, chemical, emotional, others). Later this problem obtained universal features because it
became a part of ecological, mountain, evolution, extreme, aerospace, sportive, age-specific
physiology. For these task solutions were constructed and built special thermobarogas chambers.
During investigations special attention was paid not only to destructive, but also to positive
influence of environment individual factors and their combinations, to mutual magnification or
limitation of pathogenic features development. We confirmed the data about hypothermia
protective role under the influence of hypoxibaria, radiation, decompression, acceleration. We
defined peculiarities of medicines action at hypoxia, acceleration, and for the first time (1964)
proved the necessity of the creation of new science space (ecological) pharmacology. Values for
decrease of heat buildup in conditions of hypoxibaria and cooling were defined, were shown
relations between parameters of oxygen organism state and level of radiation damage, were
suggested more favorable complex influence of hypoxybaria hyperthermia (highly effective
hypoxybarotherapy method for the increase of non-specific resistance was elaborated), others. If
to range different environmental factors, hypoxybaria has to possess the first place according to
significance, universality, prevalence, influence force. That is why doctrine about hypoxia is not
only important part of fundamental science pathophysiology, but also the method and
methodology for studying of mechanisms of physiological and pathophysiological processes.

Why did in mountains (Tibet, Ands), in isolated world appeared highly developed
civilizations? And some scientists consider that first people originated from mountains? May this
be caused by originality of mountain climate? Mountains conditions are characterized not only by
barometric pressure decay and linked with this hypoxibaria. Temperature, humidity, velocity of
air movement, its physical and chemical characteristics, electrical and magnetic field (EMF)
strengths, corpuscular stream intensity, diapason of sun (from infrared to ultraviolet) and ionized
(from X-rays to gamma quanta) radiation, earth electric field strength, etc. are changed during
elevation to altitudes. Mentioned factors of environment change structure, physical and chemical
properties of water, cause dissociation and ionization of oxygen molecules, increase level of their
excitation. Because of this, one can suppose that in mountain conditions transport of such
"particular" oxygen and its utilization in tissues will happen in specific ways. They may be
caused also by other physical and chemical conditions of oxygen diffusion, its solubility in water,
coupling with hemoglobin, deposition, penetration through the skin and others. One cannot
exclude direct EMF influence on hemoglobin molecule, on system of moving erythrocytes (which
are electrodynamically interactive charged particles) that cause appearance of convection currents
and magnetic fields, and, finally, changes in reological blood properties. We cannot exclude also
informational aspect of problem. Bioinformation form the space in mountains will be more
accessible and will be perceived in other way; this will be reflected on regularities of heredity,
mutability, adaptation, evolution, structure development in onto-, phylogenies. Because of great
importance of bioinformation for organism vital functions we suggested (2003) to select in
particular group information diseases and information methods of diseases rehabilitation-
treatment (IMRT). To IMRT we refer also climatic therapy method, efficacy of which increases
in mountains (mountain therapy).
