Table and chair layout guide
All dimensions are based on 18" from table edge to chair back. To
estimate the seating capacity of an area, take the total square feet
occupied by the tables, chairs and aisles and divide it by the seating
capacity of the tables.
* Luxurious or spacious dining:
14 sq ft./person
1000 sq ft. divided by 14 sq ft./person = approx. 71 person seating
* Intermediate, cafeteria, restaurant or cafe:
12 sq ft./person
1000 sq ft. divided by 12 sq ft./person = approx. 83 person seating
* Economical , banquet, institutional, fast food:
10 sq ft./person
1000 sq ft. divided by 10 sq ft./person = approx. 100 person seating
