SAINT
SAINT is a Synthetic Amphiphilic drug delivery system, which can be used for DNA, RNA,
antisense oligonucleotides and proteins.
Product features of SAINT:
The SAINT-complexes have a very low
toxicity profile and have been used in
serveral animal models with success.
There were other delivery systems are
inhibited by blood, SAINT-complex is not
inhibited by use in serum and blood.
Every human gene, already or still to be
identified in the near future, will be
effectively delivered by SAINT products
without any severe toxicity. Drug
targeting based on the combination of
SAINT conjugated with antibodies is in a
final investigation phase.
Why are SAINT products suitable for
Gene therapy Applications?
· SAINT-MIX is a synthetic
manufactured Vector, which from
itself has no replication machinery
· During manufacturing no eukaryotic
cells are involved in the production
process, which means that no
viruses, bacteria or prions could
contaminate the vector during
manufacturing as well as the patient
during treatment.
· Therefore it is expected that
regulatory demands regarding pre-
clinical safety steps and long term
adverse events will be incomparable
with those which needed for Viral
Vector use.
· Smooth clinical introduction is
anticipated.

amphiphilic (non-liposomal) delivery
system. The pyridinium surfactant family
contains more then thousand chemical
compounds, which can be used for the
non-toxic delivery of DNA, RNA,
oligonucleotides and proteins. SAINT /
DNA complexes have been successfully
used in vitro and in vivo.
SAINT-MIX:
SAINT-MIX is based on a synthetic
amphiphilic (non-liposomal) delivery
system combined with DOPE (Dioleoyl-
phosphatidylethanolamine).
The pyridinium surfactant of SAINT-MIX
enables non-toxic delivery of up to
111kb DNA (linear or plasmid), RNA,
oligonucleotides and proteins. SAINT-
MIX / DNA complexes have been
successfully used in vitro and in vivo.
SAINT-18:
This is one of the synthetic part of
SAINT-MIX in pure form, without the
DOPE part. SAINT-18 is an alternative
delivery system for hard to transfect
cell-lines and primary cells. SAINT-18,
which is 100% Synthetic, is applied for
in vivo experiments when SAINT-Gene-
Therapy-Grade is not yet essential.
SAINT-18FITC:
SAINT-18FITC is based on the SAINT-18
Linker technology. SAINT-18FITC is a
tracer molecule which can be used with
fluorescent microscopy, or in FACS-
analysis. Adding SAINT-18FITC to your
SAINT-18 or SAINT-MIX allows an
elegant tracing of the SAINT-complex
with either DNA, oligo or protein within
the cell.
