The World Rally Championship (WRC) is one of the most demanding and
challenging motor sports competitions in the world. It is an all-action,
adrenaline fuelled race against the clock. It features 16 race events in 16
different countries and its calendar stretches from January to November each
year. Races are held over 3 days of a weekend over closed public roads.
Drivers are tested on all sorts of terrain, from gravel to tarmac and
from snow to mud. Races are set against spectacular locations
from the vertigo-inducing mountain roads above Monaco to the
snow-bound forests of Sweden to the rough but beautiful
Argentinean Andes.
The WRC is high-quality and compelling TV. It has a passionate
and dedicated audience most of whom are male between ages 18 and 25 years old. The opportunity
to create customized programming extends the appeal to broadcaster's local audiences anywhere.
The WRC is a proven success at applying production technology to
enhance viewing experiences and bring drama and emotion of the sport to
the viewing public. Further to that, it boasts of an International Broadcast
Centre at every event site that provides production and satellite services to
enable broadcasters to customize programming on site.
