The PGA Grand Slam of Golf is the season-ending showcase of golf's
major champions. In 2005, it returns to Poipu Bay Golf Course and Hyatt
Regency Kauai Resort & Spa. This year mark Poipu Bay's 12
th
consecutive year of hosting this prestigious event on its premier course
and will yet again play host to the 2005 winners of the Masters, US Open,
British Open and PGA Championship respectively.
Last year's competition pitted Phil Mickelson, Retief
Goosen, Todd Hamilton and Vijay Singh against each other.
Mickelson emerged the eventual winner and his win was his
first PGA Grand Slam title.
In April this year, a resurgent Tiger Woods confirmed his place in the Grand Slam
by winning the Masters Tournament at Augusta in dramatic fashion. The win also
ensured that the 29-year-old regained the No.1 spot in the Official World Golf
Ranking.
