of the Yarra Valley in April 2002, heralding a luxury hotel and

ALBURY WODONGA IS EXPERIENCING AN UNPRECEDENTED
level of enquiry for meetings and has converted more than $10
million worth of business in the last 10 months.
Convention bureau manager, Kevin Bourke, says building
on industry partnerships have proven to be an effective strategy
for growing the convention business in Albury Wodonga.
"For the last 10 months the convention bureau has
concentrated on working more closely with key industry bodies
on a local, state and national level resulting in 21 conferences
with an estimated benefit of $12.4 million into the local
economy within the next two years," he said.
High profile events over the next two years include Clubs
NSW, the Local Government Association of NSW, Rural Critical
Care, Grasslands Society of Victoria, and Rotary District 9790.
