REGIONAL VICTORIA
Glen Erin chosen for
VMES launch
Glen Erin Vineyard Retreat in the Macedon Ranges and spa
country region of Victoria was selected as the venue to launch the
Victoria Meetings and Events Service recently, attended by the
Victorian Minister for Tourism John Pandazopoulos.
Head of the Regional Victoria Conference Group, Chris
Ciastkowski, describes the region as home to The Ashes and the
famous Hanging Rock, and says it is quickly developing a high
profile reputation for excellent food and wine.
"The Macedon and spa country is renowned both here and
overseas as Australia's foremost mineral springs and therapeutic
spa centre. It really is the spa capital of Australia," he says.
Glen Erin Vineyard Retreat is nestled in undulating
countryside near Lancefield, under one hour from the Melbourne
CBD and about half an hour from Melbourne Airport.
It is well suited to small meetings and corporate retreats,
offering 24 rooms, with a total capacity for 48 delegates.
Meetings facilities are state-of-the-art, offering the latest in
conferencing equipment.
The largest conference room can seat up to 200 delegates
theatre-style.
Smaller rooms are also available for breakout sessions.
After meetings sessions are over delegates can retire to the
Glen Lounge for a drink and a game of billiards, and later dinner
in The Grange Restaurant, which offers superior country
cuisine, seasonal and local produce with glorious wines to
complement the fine food and tantalise the most critical palate.
One excellent feature of Glen Erin Vineyard Retreat is that
radiant heating is used in wintertime, minimising problems for
asthmatics and asthma sufferers.
