for your AMIAA application. You don't have to complete all steps
at once - the information is stored and available to you at any time.
MIAA's Industry Accreditation process has been in operation since
1993 and is designed for meetings professionals with at least three
years industry experience and who are current financial Members
of MIAA. As you can see by the growing list of members achieving
their MIAA post nominals, members are increasingly realising the
rewards of being accredited. Already the feedback on the on-line
facility has been great.
Being accredited provides:
Industry endorsement of your commitment to achieving high
standards and ethical practice.
Opportunities for career advancement.
Credibility in the industry and the respect of clients and
suppliers.
Promotion of your status as an experienced professional to the
industry and the general public.

JUNE HAS BEEN A VERY BUSY
month for our Association. At the Extraordinary
General Meeting held 46 June, the new
Constitution was passed. This was the
culmination of months and months of work by
our CEO Jenny Lambert and National Councillors
to ensure that MIAA is well positioned in terms
of meeting your needs as members and putting
in position a clear succession plan for the Executive. I extend our thanks on
your behalf to Jenny Lambert for her tireless efforts at drafting and re-
drafting the Constitution documentation, and spending long hours with our
legal consultant that were necessary to refine and fine tune the final document.
We also launched the on-line facility to apply for AMIAA
accreditation miaanet - and I strongly encourage those of you who are
eligible for accreditation, or need to re-apply, to go on line and
experience for yourself how fast and efficient the process is.
Awards time is also fast approaching - most Branches are organising
Awards Briefing sessions over the next few months. The Awards Criteria
and process are posted on miaanet. As you wind up the past financial
year, take this opportunity of revisiting your business plan and goals and
reflect on the successes you and your organisation have achieved in the
02/03 year, and start getting those awards submissions under way.
