MIKE JOYCE
is the founder of Stereotype Design in New York City. He has designed CD packaging for established
artists and upstarts, from Iggy Pop and Natalie Merchant to Fall Out Boy and Robbers on High Street. Stereotype's
work has been featured in publications such as IdN, Print, Communication Arts, HOW, and Rolling Stone. Exhibitions
include the AIGA, Type Directors Club, the Art Directors Club's first Young Guns show, and the Permanent Collection of
the Library of Congress. In 2004 Mike was selected to co-chair the Art Directors Club's Young Guns 4. He also teaches
typography and design at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.
MIKE TEIXEIRA
is an established freelance graphic designer who operates out of his own studio Dsgnco:Teixeira
located in Gatineau, Quebec. Prior to striking out on his own, Mike was the artistic director for several years in a
design firm in the National Capital Region. Mike's creations and contributions to graphic design have won him numer-
ous national and international recognitions including: New York's Type Director's Club, American Institute of Graphic
Arts, HOW, Coupe, Society of Graphic Designers of Canada, Grafika, Graphis, Alcuin Society, Phaidon, and from his
dog Zoé who loves to chew on Mike's finished products.
BILL DOUGLAS
is the founder of The Bang, a multi-disciplinary studio specializing in book and publication design and
has created works for dozens of publishers and hundreds of authors including Sheila Heti, Ronald Wright, Michael
Ondaatje, and Margaret Atwood. In order to satisfy his off-the-chart addiction to the smell of fresh ink he also art
directs the international visual culture magazine Coupe (yes, this hampster cage liner). Bill is a frequent guest lecturer
at schools and organizations. His work has been recognized by a bunch of institutions and design publications and he
is constant tabloid fodder for the likes of Star, The National Enquirer, and News of the World.

HOW TO ENTER
1. Send one sample of each entry, unmounted. When preparing editorial spreads, tape spreads together on the back.
2. Clearly print your forms. This info will appear the annual exactly as submitted if you are selected a winner. 3. Attach
one entry form to the back of each entry. Tape top only of entry form. 4. If your work is selected you will be asked to
supply a hi-resolution digital file (photoshop file, 300 dpi eps, 7x9 inches, cmyk) for reproduction in the awards issue. If
you wish you may supply hi-resolution files with your entries and save on courier fees. It's your call.
All Winning entrants grant Coupe the right to reproduce submitted work in the Coupe 2006 Design Issue. Coupe
assumes all entries are original and are the works and property of the entrant, with all rights granted therein. Coupe is
not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant. Coupe will notify only the winners by mail or email
by August 1, 2006, after judging is complete. No entries will be returned except one of kind pieces. Postage must be
prepaid by entrant. Please mark all packages "NOCOMMERCIAL VALUE" on all weigh bills.
All entries must be postmarked by June 20, 2006.
ENTRY FEES
All entries must be accompanied by payment. Please make cheques out to COUPE. Credit cards are also
accepted (Visa or American Express only). Single entries: $45. Series entries: $65. For work entered from outside
Canada, all fees are in US dollars. Entry fees are nonrefundable.
