Two nights stay at the Skywatcher's Inn; welcome dinner; breakfast on the
second and third day and access to all telescopes and facilities.
P R O G R A M I T I N E R A R Y
DAY 1
After arriving at the Skywatcher's Inn,
you'll meet your fellow observers and
enjoy a sumptuous Southwestern style
dinner. After dinner, participate in a 4-
hour, hands-on, personal introduction to
astronomical observation under the
supervision of the Inn's Star Guides.
DAY 2
After a home-cooked breakfast, explore
all that the Skywatcher's Inn has to
offer. Children of all ages will enjoy the
collections of meteorites, fossils and
other scientific materials in the science
classroom. The observatory facilities will
be available during the day for solar
observing. There is also a large
astronomical library and video
collection. In addition you will find
a unique collection of sci-fi toys,
memorabilia and hands-on exhibits
to entertain children as well as adults.
After dinner, join the group in the
observatory for a guided session in
advanced observing. This evening will
include use of the 20 inch Maksutov
telescope.
DAY 3
After breakfast and checking out of the
Inn, you may wish to explore the region
and partake in activities such as
sightseeing, hiking, fishing, boating and
horseback riding.
The Skywatcher's Inn in Benson, Arizona houses an observatory, planetarium, small
science museum, multimedia room and two porches with spectacular views of both the
sunrise and sunset. At 3,800 feet elevation, the 20 x 27 foot sliding roof observatory is
an ideal place to tour the night sky with eight major on-site telescopes, including a 20 inch
Maksutov telescope with a separate 14 foot electronically controlled dome.

A science classroom which includes a
collection of meteorites, fossils, optics
and many hands-on science projects will
keep you occupied day and night.
A small planetarium dome in one of the
bedrooms provides a unique experience
for acquainting people of all ages with
astronomy and our skies.
Also featured is a unique sliding-roof observing room, which houses more
than half a dozen high powered telescopes.
There is a separate observing room with a 14 foot electronically controlled
dome housing a 20 inch Maksutov telescope, CCD cameras and an image
processing facility.
Relax on the outdoor patio with two high powered, mounted binoculars.
C L A S S E S
Approximately five hours of night sky instruction and telescope observing,
guided by one of the Inn's expert Star Guides using various scopes.
Additional five hours of advance teaching and observing with an amateur
astronomer, including the use of the 20 inch Maksutov telescope.
