flying jet in the Russian Air Force. Built as a high-altitude interceptor, and designed to counter the United States' SR-71
"Blackbird" and XB-70 "Valkyrie," the MiG-25 will rocket you to an altitude of 25km, where you will be above 99% of Earth's
atmosphere. Having set numerous world altitude and speed records, this amazing aircraft is the pride of many of the
finest pilots in the world. Now these experienced pilots are waiting to fly you to the edge of space at more than twice
the speed of sound!

Your flight adventure takes off from Zhukovsky Air Base, the heart of Russian aviation and advanced
flight-testing. It is also the home of the Gromov Flight Research Institute, an internationally known
center for aviation science and research.
Your pilots and hosts are elite Russian Air Force test pilots, some of the best and
most experienced aviators in the world. In 1998, then Russian President Boris
Yeltsin awarded Commander Alexandre Garnaev, Space Adventures' lead pilot,
the "Hero Of Russia" Medal, Russia's highest military honor. Each pilot speaks
English and will lead you through every phase of your flight.
