INDIANAPOLIS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ENTRANTS RECEIVE
ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATIONS
Indianapolis, IN- The Indianapolis International Film Festival (IIFF) is pleased to announce that
4 of it's entries are among the nominations for the 79
th
Annual Academy Awards. These films
are "Water," nominated for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year and "Binta and the Great
Idea" (Binta y la Gran Idea), "Eramos Pocos" (One too Many), and "West Bank Story," all
nominated for Best Live Action Short Films.
These films were also well received at the Indianapolis Film Festival in previous years and were
recognized for various distinctions. "Water" was a finalist for the Indianapolis International Film
Festival's Audience Award for Best Feature Film, "Binta and the Great Idea" was the winner of
the 2006 Grand Jury Prize for Best Short Film, and "West Bank Story" was the winner of the
2005 Audience Award for Best Short Film.
"We are thrilled that 4 of our films have received Oscar nominations," said Brian Owens,
Executive Director of IIFF. "It's a clear indication of the overall quality of the films that we
present to Indianapolis audiences." The 2007 Indianapolis International Film Festival will take
