The Scottsdale International Film Festival's mission is to be
the undisputed Arizona leader in the use of film to foster
a meaningful understanding of the world's cultures,
lifestyles, religions, and ethnicities.
Since its inception the Scottsdale International Film Festival
(SIFF) has reached an audience of over 31,000 and has
showcased more than 175 films and videos.
The SIFF regularly brings in the directors and the cast of
films to present their work and answer questions.
The desire for international films in the Valley is
undeniable as the Festival continues to grow each year.
The 2006 SIFF concluded its most successful year yet as
6,000 area residents enjoyed a selection of the best
The 2006 premiers of such highly praised and awarded titles
as Babel (starring Brad Pitt), The Queen (starring Helen
Mirren), and Infamous (starring Sandra Bullock), were
landmark programming for SIFF. Rolling the films out
before the world had seen them puts the Valley and
SIFF squarely on the map of established markets and
Film Festivals. SIFF has always been well-
respected by film buffs in-the-know around
the country. But, this is the first time we
presented high-profile films that were
at the Cannes Film Festival (the number
one festival in the world), and the
first time we've presented a film
fresh from the Toronto Film Festival
before the New York Film Festival
was permitted to exhibit it. The
Audience Award for Best Film went
to Elsa & Fred - Spain.
high profile alliances
The world class Toronto

sponsored SIFF for four years.
They offer programming clout
and many resources to help
advance both foreign and
domestic film. We are also proud
to announce our newest alliance
with the Costume Designers
Guild, Local 892. They bring
films, designers costumes, and
costume drawings which
highlight the talent and skills
of costume designers from
around the globe.
