The term "Laser" stands for Light Amplification
by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Lasers
work by producing an intense beam of
bright light that travels in one direc-
tion. The beam that is transmitted by
the laser has a unique ability to gently
heat skin tissue or pigment.
Using a wand-like hand piece the laser
is passed over the skin, sending out
light pulses that may vary in its inten-
sity and duration. There is no cutting of
the skin. Instead, these pulses destroy
undesired skin cells or wrinkles. These
skin cells literally disappear in a puff of
steam.
Lasers have been used in the treatment
of skin lesions and disorders since the 1960's.
Laser surgery is commonly used cosmetically to
erase fine lines and wrinkles, smooth and
tighten skin, correct sun damaged skin, repair
smoker's lines around the mouth, and to remove
tattoos and unwanted hair. Laser
surgery is also used medically in the
treatment of warts, rosacea, facial
veins, leg veins, psoriasis and scars.
During laser surgery the discomfort
level is minor. Most patients com-
plain of a snapping feeling that may
slightly sting. Significant complica-
tions are rare, and the risk of scar-
ring is low.
When performed by an experienced
dermatologic surgeon, lasers can
provide a safe and effective cure
to many unwanted skin disorders.
safely destroys the hairs follicle without damaging
the delicate surrounding skin.
Laser Tattoo Removal
Tattoos were once thought to be permanent. Now
with the use of laser even colored tattoos can be
safely erased. Tattoo removal is performed on an
outpatient basis under local anesthesia. It is a low
risk, highly effective and bloodless procedure. In
many cases multiple treatments are required.

Laser Hair Removal
Traditional hair removal techniques, such as shav-
ing, plucking, and waxing only provide temporary
relief from unwanted body hair. Patients may
achieve permanent hair removal with the use of
the laser. The laser's beam targets the pigment
granules in the hair causing follicular damage and
the prevention of future hair production. The laser

collapse. The vessels are than re-absorbed into the
body upon the natural healing process. The V-
Beam laser has very little side effects. The most
common side effect is a purplish bruise that usu-
ally disappears in 1-2 weeks. Other side
effects may include redness, swelling, and
tenderness that may last a for a few hours.
The V-Beam laser delivers precise treat-
ment to the targeted areas without damag-
ing any of the surrounding tissue. It is
known to be one of the safest lasers avail-
able.
The most diverse laser is the V-Beam laser. This
non-ablative laser is used to treat many derma-
tological conditions such as rosacea,
warts, psoriasis, angiomas, facial veins
and leg veins.
The V-Beam laser works by delivering
intense explosions of light below the
skins surface to destroy and coagulate
tiny blood vessels. This leaves the ves-
sel walls unsupported, causing them to
