By recovering target proteins directly from crude
feedstocks in a single unit operation, STREAMLINETM

whole capture step now runs in the same direction,
making STREAMLINE more straightforward.
E
xpanded bed adsorption (EBA) with STREAMLINE
has its natural position between upstream
fermentation and downstream purification. By
linking fermentation directly with purification,
STREAMLINE eliminates the need for the separate steps of
clarification, concentration and capture; this naturally
smoothes processing and, most importantly, contributes to
improving overall economy.
New STREAMLINE Direct adsorbent (an ion exchanger) and
Direct columns are examples of product developments that
allow biopharmaceutical manufacturers to further improve
their production economy by reducing the cost of capture.

This new cation exchange adsorbent has an increased bead
density, which means that only minimal dilution is needed to
condition viscous feedstock; moreover you can double flow
velocity and still keep the same bed expansion. Capture is
faster and proteases have less time to degrade your target
protein.
In addition, the adsorbent's ligand is multi-modal and now
tolerates up to five-times more salt than before. High salt
tolerance minimizes or eliminates entirely the need to dilute
