Dear School Administrator,

Each day the Radio Network at Spring Arbor University reaches more than 400,000 families, businesses and civic
organizations across Jackson, Lansing, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, Coldwater and Adrian. Those numbers are growing, too, as we expand
our reach throughout southern Michigan. That's why we're pleased to announce our newest program: the Student of the Week.
This program provides an opportunity for schools, parents and the community to get involved in celebrating students.'s Student of the Week is a free weekly segment that features outstanding students and their schools on The
segments will air Monday mornings at 7:10 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 5:10 p.m. throughout the school year.

The winning student will receive a certificate of achievement, on-air acknowledgment, recognition on's Web site
( and a Student of the Week T-Shirt. The winning student will also receive a coffee mug, courtesy of Walton Agency Inc.,
for his or her parent/guardian.

Step 1: Select a student
In order to nominate a student, you must be a school principal, teacher or counselor. Students of any grade level, from kindergarten
through high school, may be nominated. Identify a student that demonstrates some (but not necessarily all) of the following qualifications:
Strives for personal best in the classroom
Sets an example for others and/or provides peer leadership
Involvement in school and/or community (e.g., volunteerism, school clubs, extra-curricular activities, etc.)
Academic achievement
Has a positive attitude
Perseveres against adversities (e.g., overcoming a handicap, behavioral problem or other personal difficulty)
Loves learning

Step 2: Nominate your student
Please send a detailed, one-page letter to Radio Network using any method below:

A panel of judges will make selections on a monthly basis, but all students nominated will be eligible throughout the school year.
Morning show host, Carl Fletcher, will contact the person(s) who nominated the winning student, as well as each "Student of the Week"
