CARMAX IRVINE BREAKS
GROUND ON 17 ACRE SITE
Industrial Development International, a national industrial real estate developer,
awarded W.E. O'Neil Construction the CARMAX project located in Irvine,
California. Our selection was based upon the successful completion of two previous
facilities located in Henderson, Nevada and Roseville, California. The project
consists of the new construction of two tilt-up concrete buildings that will be
utilized for administration and a Carwash and Final Quality Control area.
Designed by O'Brien Architects, the CARMAX auto stores utilize retail components
to create an attractive environment for potential automobile buyers including
storefront glazing, special blue opaque spandrel glass, and aluminum composite
panels. The site is approximately 17 acres and the project contains extensive site
utilities work including asphalt paving, sidewalks, curb & gutter, landscaping, irrigation,
site lighting, and an underground fuel storage tank. The project is scheduled to
complete in February of 2005.
