W. E. O'Neil Construction is adding to Chicago's residential market with The
Bernardin, Chicago's first boutique apartment residence. The project owner
is McCaffery Interests and the architect is Antunovich Associates. The
Bernardin will be a 335,295 s.f. high-rise, luxury residential tower consisting
of a 171-unit apartment tower located on the south east corner of Chicago
and Wabash Avenues. The first floor and basement will be comprised of
approximately 20,000 s.f. of retail space, management offices, and concierge
services. On floors two through five there will be a fivelevel, 217-space
parking garage. The 6th floor will house six apartments, a fitness center, business
center, party room, outdoor swimming pool with spa, fire pit, outdoor
grilling/recreational area and landscaped areas. Floors 7 through 24 are
residential with nine units per floor, topped with a floor of 3 large penthouse
style units.W. E. O'Neil is a good fit for this project because of our experience
working in congested, downtown areas. The project is expected to complete
at the end of August 2005.
