different cities across these United States, from Salt Lake City to Washington, DC, and even spent
some time in St. Andrews, Scotland studying art history in class with Prince William. A well traveled
adventurer, (as well as being too cheap to buy plane tickets), Lindsay has driven across United States
over 20 times in her life. After heading down from Ithaca, New York, she now calls the East Village in
New York City her home.
Lindsay cites Amelie as her favorite movie and Middle Eastern chanteuse Natacha Atlas as her favorite
singer. When not designing web pages or catalogs, she enjoys belly dancing, collage artwork, calligraphy
and history books.
Amber Maxfi eld
Amber Maxfi eld is UncommonGoods' public relations contact and she also handles myriad other duties
for the merchandising team.
Born in the Bronx, Amber grew up in Vermont and New York before heading to the Old Line State
and graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber. She
also spent time as the co-owner of the H Lewis Gallery in Baltimore and a production manager for a
"paperie."
Amber is fond of Italy, riding the train along the Hudson River and the number fi ve. A die-hard
Montreal Expos fan, she has seen the fi lm The Graduate about nineteen times. She now lives in an
apartment in Brooklyn, where you can fi nd her grandmother's fi rst bicycle from the 1950's, an antique
typewriter and a Renaissance-style loom. At times you can also fi nd Amber there, painting, reading and
creating her own clothes. You will not fi nd any dogs there, but if she had dogs, they would be named
Statler and Waldorf.
