Internet Strategy for Insurance Companies
The pace of change and the need to find new ways of doing business have major implications for
your organization. Most successful life, health and property/casualty companies have built their
success on core competencies: pricing, sales, administration and technology. These competencies
are often focused on the insurance industry as it has been, versus how the industry is being re-
shaped for the future. There is a reluctance to face the issues associated with the exploding Internet
technologies and capabilities. This fact is reflected in this survey:

This survey may have different results today. However, to simply answer "somewhat agree" reflects
the ambivalence many executives in the industry feel about the Internet. Unfortunately, that ambiva-
lence is dangerous and they need to find ways to incorporate net strategies into their organizations.
