Since 1997, Washingtonians have been marking their calendars for the event
that WRC/Channel 4's Arch Campbell has called, "the best event in
Washington during August". For ten nights, almost one hundred thousand
moviegoers head over to the NIH Campus in Bethesda for a free movie on a
giant screen under the stars. And the purpose of the Festival is to raise funds for
the charities at NIH: The Children's Inn at NIH, Camp Fantastic/Special Love,
and the Friends of the Clinical Center at NIH.
Over the past five years the Outdoor Film Festival has grown to the point where
people call before scheduling their vacations! The event is attended and
supported by many political and business leaders, and receives coverage and
promotion from every major media outlet in the city. We are very pleased that
COMCAST Cable has returned for the third year to provide the primary
sponsorship for this event.
