Notes
a. We choose the person at the top of the lowest decile in
order to filter out part-time staff or trainees whom we are
supporting to complete substantial training programmes.
b. This is the base benefit figure, and does not include family
support or accommodation supplements, which may also
be available to our LAE.
c. This figure includes hours worked and LTI's suffered by
temporary workers.
d. This figure includes only hours worked and time lost by
City Care employees temporary workers and
subcontractors are not included.
e. City Care takes into account only the company's direct
effect when calculating energy consumption and
greenhouse gas emissions in order to avoid the possibility
of "double counting" of environmental impacts. We
therefore do not take into account supplier activity like air
travel and subcontractors' vehicle usage, or the energy
and greenhouse gas effects from the fabrication of plant
and equipment we purchase.
f. The conversion to households is based
on an average residential energy use
figure of 43.76 gigajoules per household.
This data was obtained from the Ministry
for the Environment.
g. Conversion of greenhouse gases to
native forest consumption is based on the
EBEX21 project of Landcare Research Ltd.
h. In previous years, our waste graph has
included a figure for cover material which
was able to be utilised by the Burwood
Landfill. As this landfill has closed and is
no longer accepting this kind of material,
we no longer have this category of waste
disposal.
