BETTER AND BETTER
Continuing improvement in IT
to enhance service delivery
City Care recognises the value of effective information systems
to make it easier for our staff to be more productive and
to enable us to provide more accurate, detailed and timely
information to our clients. We are therefore constantly refining
and upgrading our IT and communication systems to better
meet the needs of our staff and our customers.
Over the past year we have further evolved our IT systems so
that our asset management system is now tied into our job
management system, Event Manager. Event Manager can now
be used for both reactive and scheduled, rounds-based work.
This has allowed for a less compartmentalised approach to our
business as, rather than having different systems for different
types of work, we now have a contract management system
that applies across the varied operational areas.
We have also developed a new subcontractor management
framework using web-based solutions to integrate our
subcontractors into City Care's business systems. This cuts
down on paperwork for our subcontractors and our staff and
ensures a seamless service for our clients whether the work
is being done by City Care's own staff or by our selected
subcontractors. This subcontractor system was developed and
deployed for the new Dunedin operation and we are looking to
extend it to our Christchurch building services and underground
services operations in the coming year.
Another positive development has been improved accuracy
of our claiming processes by standardising these within Event
Manager.
During the past year we have also embarked on a project to
develop a Customer Relationship Management system that
will further improve the way we manage our dealings with our
customers.
Every day we aim to get better & better at what we do.
· We continually look for improvement in our own
knowledge, skills, creativity, motivation and
performance, and in the way the company does
things.
· We learn from our mistakes when resolving problems
by fixing the cause as well as the symptoms.
· We are innovative.
· We remain agile so that we can rapidly respond to
market changes and opportunities for growth.
· We are prepared to take risks.
· We deal with issues.
· We set specific goals based on strategic and
operational plans, and manage performance against
these goals.
· We keep up to date with industry and technology
trends.
· We measure the things we wish to manage.
· We do not assume.
