WBCT Grand Rapids - togrbrochure
TASTE OF GRAND RAPIDS PARTICIPATION:
* Applicants must be a year-round, permanent (rather than temporary or mobile) retail operation in
West Michigan whose primary function is the preparation and sale of food for consumption on the
premises. Applicant must have been in operation at the listed address for a full year prior to the
2005 event. Preference will be given to restaurants representing the ethnic diversity of Grand
Rapids.
* Applicants must submit a payment of $400.00 payable to Clear Channel and return with the
application to 77 Monroe Center, Suite 1000, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503 by June 15, 2005.
Please note: The application fee of $400.00 is absolutely non-refundable after acceptance.
* Applicants must have all necessary licenses and permits and, while the applicant can hire
personnel to assist him/her, the contract is between Clear Channel Radio and the restaurant
owner. The restaurant owner takes full legal responsibility for participation and is the party for
whom all transactions will be conducted between Clear Channel Radio and the restaurant.
* While it is expected that a restaurant's menu items submitted for sale at the TASTE OF GRAND
RAPIDS should appear on its regular restaurant menu, it is recognized that some menu items not
normally served in the restaurant may enhance the overall menu of TASTE OF GRAND RAPIDS.
Consideration will be given to such creative items on a case-by-case basis. Menu items must be
approved by TASTE OF GRAND RAPIDS management.
* Menu items on your application must include weight and pricing and should be priced no higher
than similar products and portions in the restaurant's normal operation. All menu items must be
listed by the generic name and not by a restaurant owner's in-house specialized or brand name.
* IMPORTANT: The charge for menu items will range from 1 to 5 tickets ($1.00 to $5.00). Only
in exceptional food cost circumstances will a menu price of $5.00 be allowed. A food cost
analysis with supporting documentation will be required of all restaurants on any menu item
selling at or in excess of $5.00. The average selling price of all your menu items combined may
not exceed $3.50. (The average is determined by adding the prices of all menu items except
"Taste of" items and then dividing by the total number of items offered.) Example:
Step 1. Add: Item 1 .......... $ 5.00
Item 2 .......... $ 4.00
Item 3 .......... $ 3.00
Item 4 .......... $ 2.00
Total: ........... $14.00
Step 2. $14.00 / 4 = $3.50 average
"Taste of" portion ..... $1.00 to $2.00*
*Do not include in your average and ALL SALES ARE BY TICKET ONLY.
