Renderosity

An online village of digital artists, Renderosity has since 1998 sought to build a community
founded upon mutual respect, collaboration and the idea of furthering the artistic growth of
animators, photographers and digital artists of all stripes. Seasoned pros and the newest of the
new are equally welcome at this busy and vibrant Web site.

Renderosity keeps most of its content inaccessible, except to those visitors who are willing to
sign up by filling out a quick survey on their art and software interests. Membership provides the
keys to the site's many galleries, blogs, discussion topics, chat rooms and marketplace. The art
galleries, with their thousands of images, are sorted into categories--genres like Horror,
Medieval, SF and Youth Art, for example--as well as by the software used to create them. The
focus on graphics programs is key in this community: Individual discussion areas are dedicated
to classic packages such as Adobe Photoshop, as well as advanced animation software like
iClone and the landscape creation program VistaPro. Other topics address the state of the graphic
arts industry, comics, gaming and Web design.
One feature of especial interest to new artists is the tutorials section of the Web page. There,
Renderosity members have lovingly spelled out techniques for rendering gaming characters,
tweaking digital photos, writing and just about everything else relating to 2-D and 3-D artwork.
This kind of generous information sharing is the order of the day at the site, which--judging
from its immense galleries and busy forums--has entirely succeeded in its quest to create a
shared virtual studio, a safe space where artists can appreciate and nurture each other's work.

I've met some great friends here at Renderosity, friendships that have even grown into business
partnerships. I've also found the forums are a great place for learning.
To put it simple, without Renderosity I wouldn't do what I do.
We want to say thanks to the all Renderosity admins, for their work and availability.
